TRAVEL TO KENYA
Kenya has been called
'the jewel of Africa'. Kenya's terrain includes deserts, mountain forests,
and dazzling coral reefs with white sand beaches. Kenya is the location for safaris as
almost every African plains animal can be seen. Visit Lake Nakuro National Park
to see thousands of pink flamingos line the edges of the lake. Visit Masai Mara
National Reserve to see millions of wildebeest and zebra in their annual migration.
In Nairobi visit the Karen Blixen museum, author of the book Out of Africa,
and the Kenya National Museum. Visit the Mamba Crocodile Village
and the Ngomongo Village Cultural Park. Kenya even has 6 marine parks with
activities including sailing on an Arabian dhow, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling,
and swimming. Visit the Great Rift Valley to see sweeping views.
TRAVEL TO TANZANIA
Tanzania is a beautiful
country with mountains, wildlife viewing in national parks, and beautiful Zanzibar
just off the coast. The Olduvai Gorge is located in Tanzania, and is often
referred to as 'the cradle of mankind' due to the prevalence of fossils of early humans. Visit
Serengeti National Park and watch game. Walk Mount Kilimanjaro
with a guide in 5-6 days. Take a safari at Ngorongoro Crater to see the
densest population of lion within Africa. In Dar es Salaam visit the National
Museum to see the skull of 'Nutcracker Man'. Not far from Dar es Salaam visit Bagamoyo,
an important slave port for Arab Slave trade caravans. Visit Zanzibar's spice plantations,
or get lost in the Zanzibar's Stone Town. Track chimpanzees in the Gombe National
Park.
TRAVEL TO UGANDA
Uganda was called
'the pearl of Africa' by Sir Winston Churchill. This is the land where
the West Africa jungle meets the East Africa savannah. Trips for Gorilla tracking
should be booked at least 6 months in advance due to limited availability. Make sure to
schedule a trip to Jinja, the source of the Nile River. Uganda is committed
to developing its natural resources. Currently there are 10 national parks, 10 wildlife
reserves, and 7 wildlife sanctuaries. If you wish to see animals in their natural habitat
try a trekking safari. You can see lions on the plains and tropical birds in the rainforest,
sometimes even in the same day. Several ecotourism projects have been developed including
the Budongo National Reserve, the largest mahogany forest in East Africa.
